おもしろそうなドキュメンタリーを発見。原題は「Babies」。
公式サイトによると、

 とのこと。

赤ちゃんは1才になるまでに社会の一員となることを学びます。

こんなナレーションから始まり、赤ちゃんがどんな力を持っていて、どんな学びを行っているのかを検証していく内容。最後にはこんな言葉も。

赤ちゃんは無防備な傍観者ではありません。比較するものを探究しています。常に周りの環境を見て考えています。
人間の進化のために無防備な赤ちゃんは脳内に強力な学習マシンがあるのです。だからこそ人間は非常に柔軟です。生まれてくる命は学びながら創造しているのです。
親たちアドバイスは、なるべく多くのものに触れさせることです。さまざまな顔、多くの言語、匂いや味まで、国際化する世界に羽ばたく子どもを育むために。

Babies are not just hapless blobs that are passively allowing the world to go by. They’re actively seeking out things to compare. They’re actively working on the environment around them and thinking all the time.
It’s the human evolutionary strategy of our species to have these incredibly incompetent babies, with the most powerful learning machines in the universe inside their heads. And that is part of what makes us such an incredibly flexible species. Each new generation is both learning the new world it lives in and creating it.
So my advice to parents is that they should expose their babies as wide as possible in terms of, let’s say, faces, in terms of languages,in terms of smells, in terms of taste. That would help the child to live in the future, in the globalized world.

すごくおもしろい番組。今赤ちゃんと日々向き合っている人が見たら「へー！」の連続だろうし、直接子どもと関わることのない人が見てもおもしろいと感じるはず。
